It's still simmering today.
It's a habit I've had since my days at Merihariya in Tokyo, so I play either J-wave (Tokyo) or NACK5 (Saitama) while preparing the food, and I think that's reflected in the taste.
There's an urban legend that the taste of the food changes depending on which station you call.
Incidentally, neither station plays classical music.
You can also eat beef stew like that.
